Application Process - All materials due April 17, 2023
1. Gather required materials

No applications will be considered without:
  • Parent and student IRS 1040 forms
  • Financial aid award letter from the college
  • Applications must be returned to us by April 17
  • Families should plan tax work to meet this deadline

2. Download the application: 

Click​ here​ here for an application form.  There is one application for all applicants and scholarships.  You must be accepted to or currently enrolled in a certificate program, two-year or four-year college degree program.

Note: There are two scholarships with specific criteria.
  • The George O. Smith Scholarship requires that a student major in a physical science or engineering AND submit a copy of the student's birth certificate with the application.  The student's mother MUST have been a Lexington resident at the time of the applicant's birth.​  Examples of qualifying majors:  astronomy, chemistry, earth science, engineering, geology, meteorology, oceanology or physics.

  • The Emily and Frank Smiddy Scholarship requires that a student intends to study in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering or math) upon entering their first year of college.
